| Where were you on 9/11? | I was uptown and friends were calling me and chatting non stop and I had to tell them to stop calling me to free up the phone lines. | Did you make art on that day? | I think I wrote on that day. |

| What is the difference between America and Europe? |
Europe is doomed , it's
too ancient. With America you have the best and the worst. |
"I shifted to the sky" what does that mean? | I used to paint lots of angels. I would dwell in the sky. |

| When you look back on the factory, what are your thoughts? | Extraordinary times, arrogant times, unique times yet people were naive. | Tell me about Apocalyptic Angels? | We are living in the age of terror and artists should deal with it, but I don't want to be all doom and gloom. |

| Why the name change in '63? | I was going to be in a "Andy" movie and he mentioned that I should change my name. He came up with poly-ester, Tra-dam, I said no to all. Then I was looking thru a Scientific America and in there was an article on ultraviolet light and that is where it came from. Me and Salvador Dali always used to look thru Scientific America, reminds me to subscribe. | What is your favorite film? | 1984's Amadeus. |

| How did you like working with John Schlesinger (Midnight Cowboy)? | It was very exciting, we worked for two weeks, but I think most of the footage went to the cutting room floor. | Do you think that there are appropriate ways to depict Christ and inappropriate ways to depict Christ? |
I think so. I rather get on my knees then use a Christ as a punching bag. |

| There is that story about you coming up with the idea of the famous campbell soup can and Andy Warhol? | In 1961 there was a luncheonette on 88th and Madison and Andy was asking me for Ideas as he was always asking everyone for ideas. There were some cans of soup behind the counter and I said why don't you use them, the rest is history. | Do you think we censor ourselves too much? | Yes and no. We are supposed to have free speech. |

| What is your take on nudity and sex? | There were some pieces I wanted to put in the show, but I don't think they made them in. Also I am not interested in taking my clothes off. | What do you think about the art scene today opposed to the factory years. | Well today it is all about money money money, when I with the factory that was multiple level marketing without pay. If it was about money in those days I didn't notice. |
